THE strangest aspect of the recent debate about abortion is that it began with second- wave feminists. It was Eva Cox and Wendy McCarthy who called for a reconsideration of late- term abortions. As they said, new technology and the enhanced chances of survival for premature babies meant that the subject should be revisited.
